SpringForce: Online spring calculation

We have introduced a testing-phase of our new online calculation software for torsion springs: SpringForce! Until now, configuration and selection of industrial torsion springs could only be done "off-line" with FFLogic software. Spring Matrix for garage doors

For a garage door, 90% of the time equipped with a electrical door opener, the exact scientific calculation of the spring is less critical. We have calculated a matrix for you, in which for each door height and width (and weight), a
spring is selected. This spring matrix allows you to limit the amount of different springs you need to cover all doors up to max wxh = 5 x 3m to 15 different spring sizes. That means you can stock these fixed springs which makes you more flexible in configuring and preparing your garage door production.

A simple ABC!?

After the introduction of our successful SafeStep pass door system, we soon received the request for a similar smart system for side-entrance doors.

According to our customers, this is a growing market where architects and end-users like the fact that the side entrance door shows similar appearance and design as the sectional overhead door next to it. So we went from A to B and designed a side-entrance door system, which basically is the SafeStep door with few components and profiles added to it.

Then we took the initiative to go from B to C, by also creating a double swing door with the same components, only adding one additional aluminum profile and a slide-lock.

This offers you the opportunity to easily extend your range of doors into side-entrance doors and into double swing garage doors using standard components! We expect all these systems to be available in Q4-2011/Q1-2012.

This is a built-in door pusher, that, when installed inside the upper part of the door, will be completely "out of sight". A standard design, applicable on normal pedestrian entrance (or internal) doors and also on industrial pass doors.

Now we introduce: OSE-IR! This photocell works with all major operator brands/control units. A set consists of 1 receiver (RX) and 1 transmitter (TX), both have 15 meter wire attached.

Self-contained photocells, IR. These ’button type’ photocells are fixed into the track of the door. When an obstacle is in the way, they’ll send a signal to the operator control unit which will stop the movement of the door.

Prices 2011-Q3: The first minor decreases!

We are happy to announce our new price list, PRICES 2011-Q3, that will be issued next week and will be valid for the third quarter of this year. In this price list you will find the first signs of small decreases, caused by the slight decreases in the prices of raw materials. Steel profiles, curves, stampings, tube-shafts, windows, rollers, cable drums, spring fittings will show slightly lower prices. Torsion springs remain unchanged, because the prices for spring wire still do not show any decrease. For seals, fixation material and some individual products, there will be a small increase.We will send an indication per product group to our customers this week. The final PRICES 2011-Q3 list will send next week. If the current raw material cost trend will continue, Q4 prices will show more decreases. CSPT Adaptor for spring tensioning

An after sales opportunity! We introduce to you a new adaptor, CSPT, which can be used for tensioning of torsion springs on Crawford industrial doors that are equiped with a special spring fitting system. Normally only with a complex, non-available, ratched tool one can tension these springs. Now, by simply sliding the CSPT adaptor over the spring plug and fixening it with bolt and set screw, the springs can be tensioned with a traditional tensioning bar (17mm). After fixation the tool can be removed again for use in a next project.

This opens up opportunities for the maintenance, service and repair of Crawford doors. Check our initial stock and (pre-)order now.

Opto-sensors have been in our program for some years now. From now on our well known, reliable and trusted product OSE-Signal has been replaced by the ‘low-power’ version (item code OSE-Signal-LP). Extremely low power consumption enables these opto’s to be used in combination with wireless signal transfer systems like Radiosafe, Radioband and Wireless band. (soon also in our program)

All other product characteristics and features remain unchanged. Obviously you can continue using spiral cables (also available through FlexiForce) for the communication between the safety edge and the operator so the OSE-Signal-LP just gives you more flexibility. They always work with any system.

870C: Connect!

Connection of 2" horizontal and vertical tracks. By fixing on vertical track a nice connection with curve or extended vertical track is realised. Make sure the end of the vertical track is outside the flange of the vertical angle. Installation of extended track/curve is now simple. Slide in and fix with track bolts (1006B) and nuts (1062M).

SafeStep pass door system: product training

Before summer holidays we introduced to the market our new, finger-safe pass door system, with integrated low threshold: SafeStep. Today, many of our customers have installed their first doors with this system and the feed back we get from them is very positive. "German quality!" is maybe the best example of the compliments that customers give us. We are pleased to see our engineering efforts resulting in a high quality, solid solution.

Installing a pass door in an industrial door can be a real challenge. Door companies assign special trained people for this that are capable of getting routine in making the perfect pass door. Making a pass door in a residential, finger-safe door is even more complicated. Our SafeStep system results in a perfect fit, but, only when installed by trained pass door makers that follow closely the instructions and tolerances as stated in our manual. The dimensional tolerances of the panel differ for each brand. Therefore, be sure it takes solid preparation and skills to make SafeStep the perfect solution. We are happy to train your people in this. In-house or at FlexiForce.

We have created two kits, which contain all the products needed to protect a pass door installed in a power operated garage door or industrial door. Our kits are compatible with all major operator brands, for doors up to 5 meters wide, simple to order as one article code. The kit is "flush-mount", so no visible signs or wires on the inside of the door leaf.
