Senior Buyer

Position Purpose

To ensure best value in the identification, qualification, collaboration and monitoring of suppliers on a global basis in the strategic and technical sourcing of parts, products and services that support the manufacturing, distribution and direct sales channels of ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems in the North American market.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Buyer responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Working with internal technical and engineering personnel to identify sourced material requirements.
  • Identifying and developing relationships with potential vendors.
  • Determining vendor capabilities and reliability.
  • Monitoring vendor performance with regards to quality, delivery and pricing.
  • Identifying and maintaining alternate supply sources.
  • Monitoring inventory, stock turns and ROP’s.
  • Expediting goods as necessary.
  • Participating in make vs. buy decision making
  • Maintaining awareness of tariff codes and trade law changes.
  • Generating P.O.’s as necessary
Qualifications

The minimum required qualifications for this role include:

  • Strong mechanical, technical, electrical & electronic background in a manufacturing environment. In depth background in MRO & equipment purchasing. Solid understanding of machine shop and tool & die equipment and repairs. Working knowledge of facility maintenance.
  • Ability to read and understand Engineering drawings.
  • Practical working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, with specific knowledge of Syteline preferred.
  • Global procurement and importing experience would be an asset.
  • Ability to create, read or interpret documents such as RFQ’s, price lists, catalogs, requisitions, supplier quotes, purchase orders, receiving documents and invoices.
  • Competency with MS Office software and specifically Excel including data modeling, Strategic Sourcing, and creating reports as necessary.
  • The ability to communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing to suppliers and internal customers.
  • A talent for influencing personnel within other departments or business units.
  • Effective negotiation skills and an appropriate approach to the negotiation process.
  • The ability to apply common sense understanding to carrying out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • An analytical nature with the ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations, identify root causes, recommend and implement effective solutions.
  • Business degree with SCMP, PMAC, or APICS certification desired.

Regional Sales Representative

Position Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Regional Sales Representative for our Abbotsford location.  This role will work closely with our clients and internal resources to ensure high levels of customer service and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

As our ideal candidate, your qualifications include 5 or more years of experience in the sales of overhead door hardware and related components or other related construction industry experience at the OEM supplier level. You have extensive knowledge of the overhead door market, both locally and in western North America.  You also have an analytical nature and understand the relationship between costs and selling price of manufactured items.  You have strong but principled negotiating skills and are confident in your ability to make the most of sophisticated software tools available to manage customer relationships and information.

Qualifications

Production Planning Supervisor

Position Purpose

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Production Planning Supervisor for our Abbotsford location. This role will lead the production planning function and integrate with the sales, manufacturing and logistics functions to ensure the timely and effective manufacture and distribution of products to our customers. Our ideal candidate has an enthusiasm for excellence and productive work, an ethical approach to business relationships and an ability to leverage those relationships to achieve results. We want someone with the ability to anticipate problems and be ready with creative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Day to day responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Lead the Planning, scheduling and Inventory control team.
  • Identifying manufacturing data inaccuracies, investigating their cause, formulating and applying effective corrective actions
  • Communicating effectively and regularly with sales, supervision and department lead hands on production, equipment and personnel status.
  • Planning production to optimize equipment / material utilization and delivery capability.
  • Participating in long term planning for improving technology, capacity and capabilities.
  • Utilizing the data management and reporting capabilities of the ERP system as required.
  • Continuously improving production control systems and processes.
  • Monitoring and reconciling raw material, work in process and finished goods inventories.
  • Providing comprehensive and concise information and reports to the Production Manager, taking a lead role in the training and development of personnel.
  • Overseeing the performance management of planning and scheduling personnel.
  • Recommending new policies or procedures as necessary.
Qualifications

The minimum qualifications we believe are necessary for success in this role include;

  • Formal training in operations management and/or production planning functions. CPIM certification a definite asset.
  • Must have at least 5 years experience planning production in a high volume, multi-line, short lead-time environment.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience leading, developing and mentoring the performance of a team.
  • Must be familiar with applying lean manufacturing principles to inventory and production management in a high volume manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to understand process capacity, identify constraints and establish contingency plans to ensure high on time delivery performance.
  • Must be able to demonstrate intermediate or better skills in MS Excel and Access
  • Able to demonstrate ability to effectively use ERP/MRP data management and planning tools, ideally with knowledge of Infor Syteline.
  • Knowledge of metal / plastics processing an asset.

The Director, Sales will be responsible for maximizing the FlexiForce market share in North, Central and South America with a special emphasis on the United States and Canada.   • Implement Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system for FlexiForce North America.
  • Implement an effective eCommerce platform.
Qualifications

The minimum required qualifications for this role include:

 

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a B2B sales and market development leadership role.
  • Proven experience in leading and developing the sales function and sales personnel.
  • Extensive practical experience and success in the development of business strategies to achieve sustainable growth and increased market penetration.
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business Administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience coupled with formal sales process training.
  • Effective computer skills including familiarity with ERP and CRM software as well as MS Office programs.
